Malta Day Celebrations in Cairo

The Embassy of the Republic of Malta in Cairo organized a reception to celebrate Malta Day at the Conrad Hotel Cairo on Tuesday, 11 December 2018.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Charles Sultana referred to the strong links which exist between the two countries. He noted that Diplomatic relations between Malta and Egypt were established in 1965 shortly after Malta gained independence and since then, the two countries have maintained an ongoing political dialogue and have a common will to cooperate on regional peace and security, expand trade relations as well as promote links between the two people. He also welcomed Malta’s Honorary Consuls, thanked sponsors for their contribution and, thanked embassy staff for their continuing support throughout the year.

The event was well attended by Assistant Foreign Minister and Chief of Protocol, HE Mr Hatem Tageldin and  Assistant Foreign Minister for Security Affairs, HE Mr Amr El Hennawy as well as other Egyptian government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, former Egyptian MEDAC alumni, Egyptian diplomats that had served in Malta, Members of the Egyptian Parliament, Members of the Egyptian business community and Maltese nationals living in Egypt.
