Visa Application Centre opens in Manila

A Malta Visa Application Centre (VAC) has opened its doors to the public in Manila. The VAC is operated by VFS Global, and will receive Schengen and national visa applications from citizens and residents of the Philippines. After initial processing in Manila, the applications will be transmitted to Beijing for final processing by the Maltese Embassy in the Chinese capital.
 
Clifford Borg-Marks, Ambassador-designate of Malta to the Philippines, said, “This is a very positive development. The opening of our Visa Application Centre in Manila will facilitate applications by Filipinos wishing to travel to Malta on business, as tourists or for work, and will render the whole process much more efficient and user-friendly than it has been to date. We hope to extend the service soon to Cebu Province”.

Ambassador interviewed on online TV stations
 
Lengthy interviews in Chinese with Ambassador Clifford Borg-Marks have recently featured on the national portal of China Daily – Multimedia and on Qiluwang, the online TV channel of the Shandong Province TV station.
 
Ambassador Borg-Marks spoke of Malta’s history, culture and its many tourist attractions, on Malta’s friendly relations with China over the past 42 years, and on Malta’s economy and what it has to offer to the Chinese investor. He said that Malta is a gem in the Mediterranean that is waiting to be discovered by Chinese tourists. Both interviews were interspersed by eye-catching video materials produced and made available by the Malta Tourism Authority
