Scholarships in Sri Lanka 2017

 

The Government of Sri Lanka is offering the ‘Government of Sri Lanka Presidential Scholarships for Foreign Students’ for the academic year 2017/8.

The scholarship is implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways. This course offers a chance to international students to enrol themselves in undergraduate programs conducted by state universities in Sri Lanka. The scholarship nominees will be exposed to an environment with academic excellence, culture of hospitality in Asian setting and enticing climatic conditions. The study program will lead to a Bachelor’s degree in various fields of study according to the University chosen.

Applicants are invited to follow the application procedures directly with the Sri Lanka Government. The scholarship details and the application form can be downloaded from the website www.mohe.gov.lk.  The deadline to submit the application and all documentation is the 31st May, 2017.

The application form and all documentation must be submitted to the Scholarships Section, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Valletta by hand. Further information can be found on the Ministry’s Website (foreignaffairs.gov.mt).

Successful candidates may be required to enter into a contract to serve the Government or the Private Sector of Malta upon completion.

Applications from Government and Parastatal employees and from the Private Sector will not be considered unless recommended by their Head of Department/Employer respectively.

Late applications will not be considered.

The Board's decision will be final.

Scholarships in Japan 2018/2020

 

The Government of Japan is offering one(1) two-year scholarship to a Maltese graduate student who wishes to study at a Japanese University as a research student under the Japanese Government Scholarship Programme for the academic years 2018-2020 (April 2018 - March 2020), in various subjects within the field of Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Subjects must be one of those available at Japanese Universities. One copy of the explanatory note, the application form, the application attachment, the field of study and study program, the recommendation form and the certificate of health are needed.  Applicants must be willing to learn the Japanese language, interested in Japan and enthusiastic about deepening his/her understanding of Japan after arriving and capable of engaging in study and research while adapting himself/herself to life in Japan. Applicants are also required to contact a professor of the Japanese university where they wish to study and obtain a letter of acceptance.

 All the applications should be submitted to the Embassy of Japan in Italy, with all the requested documents. A copy of all documentation must be submitted by hand or by registered post to the Scholarships Section at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Malta.

The deadline to submit all documentation is by not later than noon of Friday 23rd June 2017.
