Maltese Presidency hosts lunch for EU Heads of Mission accredited to Palestine in the city of Bethlehem

On Thursday 29 June 2017, the Representative Office of the Republic of Malta in Ramallah, Palestine, organized a lunch for the Heads of Mission of EU Member States accredited to Ramallah and Jerusalem. The EU Representatives and Consuls General were welcomed by the Maltese Representative in Ramallah, Palestine, Mr Reuben Gauci at the Bethlehem Hotel in the Palestinian city of Bethlehem.

The lunch was chaired by the Deputy Representative of the European Union accredited to Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza and UNRWA, Mr Tomas Niklasson. The guest speaker during the lunch was  the newly elected Mayor of Bethlehem, H.E. Dr Anton Salman, who was accompanied by Ms Carmen J Ghattas, Head of the Public Relations and Media Department of Bethlehem Municipality and  Mr Ziad Al Sayeh, Director of the Development Unit at the Bethlehem Municipality. The topic of the address was: “ The Development Strategy and Requirements  for the city of Bethlehem.”

Following the discussions, the Maltese Representative gave Mayor Salman a gift featuring a scene of Malta, as a token of the event.
